SESRIC Explores Enhanced Cooperation in Food Security and Agriculture with IOFS

In a productive bilateral meeting on 23 July 2024 in Astana, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, and H.E. Amb. Berik ARYN, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between SESRIC and IOFS.

Emphasizing the need to enhance sustainability and amplify impact beyond existing collaboration areas between SESRIC and IOFS, H.E. SELÇUK proposed a visionary long-term flagship joint project focusing on food security and agriculture in the OIC countries. The project aims to address the critical challenges in food security and promote sustainable agricultural practices across the member countries.

On his part, H.E. Amb. ARYN welcomed the proposal and expressed his optimism about the potential benefits of such a project. He acknowledged SESRIC’s role in capacity-building and its contributions to the development efforts of the OIC countries. They agreed to further explore the details of the project and work towards its successful implementation.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to advancing their partnership and exploring new avenues for cooperation in food security and sustainable agriculture.
