Within the framework of the Water Resources Management Capacity Building Program (Water-CaB), SESRIC, in collaboration with Turkish Water Institute and Istanbul Technical University organised a workshop on “Evaluating the Potential of Membrane Technologies for Desalination and Wastewater Recycling in OIC Countries” on 31 July – 1 August 2024 through an online video conferencing platform. The workshop brought together 101 experts and executives from the National Water Resources Authorities of 26 OIC countries.

The workshop aimed to promote knowledge exchange and capacity building in the area of membrane technologies for water treatment, focusing on desalination and wastewater recycling. It sought to evaluate the applicability of these technologies within OIC countries, identify challenges, and explore opportunities for collaboration and technology transfer. Additionally, the workshop aimed to foster partnerships among experts and stakeholders to support the implementation of efficient and sustainable water management practices in OIC countries.
