SESRIC Participates in the Second Inter-Regional Expert Meeting on the Measurement of South-South Cooperation

SESRIC participated in the Second Inter-Regional Expert Meeting on Measuring South-South Cooperation virtually. The meeting was organized as a hybrid event by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the UN Regional Commissions for West Asia (ESCWA), Africa (ECA), Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).

The meeting provided a dynamic platform for high-level debates, focusing on integrating South-South cooperation into future research, development, and policy agendas. Experts deliberated on effective methods to amplify the voice of the global South in international development discussions, emphasizing the utilization of data from the South. Additionally, participants assessed Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators to aid in the efficient management of resources dedicated to sustainable development.
