Date: 31 May 2024
Venue: SESRIC, Ankara - Türkiye

SESRIC held a meeting with a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Türkiye Country Office, led by Mr. Miodrag DRAGISIC, Deputy Resident Representative, at its Headquarters in Ankara. The visit aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration following a bilateral meeting between the heads of both institutions in March 2024.

Directors of SESRIC’s technical departments provided comprehensive briefings on the Centre’s areas of expertise, including Statistics, Economic and Social Research, and Training and Technical Cooperation. In turn, the UNDP Türkiye delegation shared insights into their agency’s structure, scope of work, and highlighted various initiatives and projects they have undertaken.

Recognizing the significant potential for synergy, both parties agreed to establish a structured framework for collaboration. The proposed areas of cooperation include women’s empowerment, climate change and environment, social inclusion, private sector development, tourism, and advancements in agriculture and cotton production. These efforts are aligned with the mutual objectives of SESRIC and UNDP Türkiye, aiming to achieve impactful outcomes in these critical areas.
