Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKStat), will organise a Training Course on “National Statistical Coordination” on 14-15 August 2024.

The training course will be provided by a competent expert from TURKSTAT for the benefit of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and other relevant stakeholders within the National Statistical Systems (NSSs) of the OIC countries.

The main aim of the training is to enhance participants' understanding and implementation of methodologies and best practices in national statistical coordination. The following topics will be covered during the training course:

• Official Statistical Programme (OSP)
• Statistics Council
• OSP Working Groups
• Preparation and Implementation of the OSP
• National Data Release Calendar
• Monitoring of the OSP
• Quality Assessment in Official Statistics in Türkiye
• Revision of the OSP
• Official Statistics Portal

The StatCaB Programme was initiated in early 2007 as the flagship capacity development programme of SESRIC. Within the framework of the StatCaB Programme, the Centre collects information from the NSOs of OIC member countries through the biennial StatCaB Questionnaire, assesses their statistical training needs and capacities, matches these needs and capacities, and organises statistical capacity development activities between the beneficiary and provider countries.
