Webinar on ‘Monitoring Health for SDGs in the Post-COVID-19 Era’

Within the framework of its Webinar Series on Statistical Experience Sharing, SESRIC organized a Webinar on “Monitoring Health for SDGs in the Post-COVID-19 Era” on 30 April 2024. The webinar was conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank (WB), the BPS Statistics of Indonesia, Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and Ministry of Health of Türkiye.

The webinar was attended by 57 official statisticians and experts from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs), Ministries of Health, and relevant national institutions of 18 OIC countries.

The webinar aimed to discuss a range of topics, including the global health situation following the COVID-19 pandemic, methods to enhance statistical indicators for assessing UHC, data-driven approaches to strengthen the resilience of healthcare systems, the application of data and technology for health monitoring.

In response to the resolution adopted during the 9th Session of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom) held virtually from 28 September to 1 October 2020, which emphasized the importance of sharing experiences and best practices among OIC-StatCom members, SESRIC has undertaken the initiative to foster knowledge exchange to aid in the generation of high-quality data. As the Secretariat of OIC-StatCom, SESRIC launched the Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series, providing a platform for National Statistics Offices (NSOs) of OIC countries and statistical units of pertinent international agencies to share their insights on statistical topics of shared interest.
