SESRIC hosted a technical meeting with the OECD Istanbul Centre to explore partnership opportunities in areas of common interest. The meeting took place at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye, on 20 February 2024.

During the meeting, discussions centered on leveraging the initiatives of both institutions in statistical cooperation, both within the OIC and on an international scale. Areas of potential collaboration were thoroughly examined, aiming to harness synergies that align with the mutual objectives of SESRIC and the OECD Istanbul Centre.

Key initiatives of SESRIC, including the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom), the Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, and the Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series, were highlighted as potential avenues for future cooperation. Additionally, the OECD Istanbul Centre provided insights into its works and initiatives, focusing on thematic statistical areas such as capacity building in transport statistics, studies on green skills for women based on labour force survey results, and regional capacity development in the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX).
