H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Hazem Issam AL-KHATIB AL-TAMIMI, Ambassador of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Ankara. The visit aimed to explore potential venues of cooperation between SESRIC and national institutions of Jordan.

Jordan, an active OIC member country, consistently participates in and contributes to SESRIC activities. Notable Jordanian national institutions participating in the SESRIC activities include the Central Bank of Jordan, Ministry of Labour, Department of Statistics (DoS) of Jordan, and the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) of Jordan, among others.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted that SESRIC, committed to advancing technical cooperation among the OIC member countries, has implemented a total of 136 capacity-building activities for the benefit of 354 participants from the Jordanian national institutions since the initiation of its various capacity development programs.

Thanking H.E. SELÇUK for her kind visit, H.E. AL-KHATIB AL-TAMIMI noted that the collaboration with the Department of Statistics (DoS) of Jordan is particularly productive and smooth, as evidenced by Jordan's active participation in 11 Sessions of the OIC Statistical Commission since 2011. Jordan pays utmost attention to SESRIC’s activities, emphasizing the potential for Jordanian national institutions to participate and contribute more actively in these activities.

The bilateral meeting ended with both representatives expressing their wish to strengthen collaboration between Jordan and SESRIC as well as emphasizing the importance of knowledge exchange and cooperation for the benefit of OIC countries.
