H.E. Dr. Walid ABDELWAHAB, Director of the IsDB Regional Hub in Türkiye paid a courtesy visit to H.E Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at the SESRIC HQs. The meeting aimed to reinforce the longstanding partnership between the two OIC institutions.

SESRIC and IsDB, as pivotal institutions within the OIC, have played a leading role in fostering socio-economic development across the OIC countries over the years. Their collaboration has been materialised by joint activities, project implementations, and the production of knowledge products and reports.

During the bilateral discussions, the two sides discussed the rich history of engagements, including the co-organization of annual sessions of the OIC Statistical Commission since 2011 and the participation in various IsDB Reverse Linkage Projects, tailored to meet the specific needs of OIC countries.

H.E. SELÇUK underlined the exemplary collaboration between SESRIC and IsDB which has resulted in numerous impactful initiatives. In turn, H.E. Dr. Walid ABDELWAHAB thanked H.E. SELÇUK for the warm welcome, and stated that their shared vision for the socio-economic development of OIC countries would require closer cooperation between IsDB and SESRIC.

The meeting ended with both parties renewing the commitment between SESRIC and IsDB, which extends towards various potential areas of cooperation.
