Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Training Course on ‘SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, Infrastructure) Indicators’ for the benefit of 33 experts National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 8 French speaking OIC countries on 17-18 January 2024 through an online video conferencing platform.

Mr. Mostafa ABDELI, Head of Division of Economies Infrastructure Sectors, and Ms. Hasna Al Echcheikh EL ALAOUI, Head of Division of Productive Sectors and Competitiveness at the High Commission for Planning (HCP) of Morocco, conducted the course and covered the following topics:

• Introduction to SDG 9
• Data sources and international comparison
• SDG 9 components: industry, innovation
• The mapping of SDG9 indicators
• The mapping of SDG9 with other indicators
• International orientation of SDG 9
• Challenges in monitoring SDG indicators
