The 3^rd  OIC Tourism Fair under the theme of “An Exclusive Platform Promoting Muslim Friendly Tourism where Traditions and Modernity Converge,” was organized by the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) in collaboration with NeXTfairs and with the strategic sponsorship of the Qatar Tourism Center in Doha, Qatar.

The main objective of the Fair was to exhibit tourism potential and encourage investment in the travel and tourism sectors in OIC countries. The Fair brought together high-level officials, policymakers, and tourism sector representatives from OIC countries and relevant OIC institutions and international organisations. Mr. Muzamil EDEMA, Researcher at the Economic and Social Research Department, represented SESRIC at this event.

The Fair commenced with the opening statements from H.E. Mr. Saad AL KHARJI, Chairman of Qatar Tourism, and H.E. Mrs. Latifa EL BOUABDELLAOUI, Director General, Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT). In addition to exhibitions, the Fair featured a panel discussion focusing on gastronomy, health, and Muslim–friendly tourism in OIC countries. During the panel discussion, Mr. EDEMA delivered a comprehensive presentation on “Health Tourism in OIC Member Countries” covering the topics of the global health tourism market and the current state and development of health tourism in OIC countries. The Centre also established a booth to display and promote its activities and programme in the domain of tourism.

Qatar Travel Mart 2023, organized by NeXTfairs for Exhibitions and Conference, aims to support and strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism industry of Qatar, in which up to 200 exhibitors and over 9,000 visitors from all over the world participated.
