Online Experience Sharing Programme on Vocational Qualifications System

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme and the OIC Vocational Education and Training (OIC-VET) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Experience Sharing Programme on Vocational Qualifications System with the participation of 6 officials from the General Authority of Statistics (GASTAT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

After the opening addresses of H.E. Mr. Adem CEYLAN, President of the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK) of the Republic of Turkey, and Mr. Naif ALBLAWI, General Manager of the International Relations Administration of the GASTAT of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC, delivered his welcoming remarks. H.E. Mr. Dabur underlined in his welcoming remarks that this experience-sharing programme aims at providing insights into the concepts and practices of developing occupational standards and vocational qualifications as well as creates a positive impact and add value to the work and experience of all the participants.

During the online experience sharing programme, experts from the MYK of Turkey shared their knowledge and best practices through presentations and reference materials, and particularly focused on the following topics:

  • Occupational Standards & Vocational Qualifications
    • Preparation of Occupational Standards & Vocational Qualifications
    • Quality Assurance of Occupational Standards & Vocational Qualifications
  • Testing and Certification Activities
    • Quality Assurance of Testing and Certification Activities

The course was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to COVID-19.
