Online Training Course on ‘Information Society Statistics’

Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised an Online Training Course on ‘Information Society Statistics’ with the participation of 30 attendees from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of 10 OIC countries on 24-25 and 27 May 2021.

Ms. Azura Arzemi, Principal Assistant Director; Ms. Nuramalina Abdullah, Assistant Director; and Ms. Norazlin Muharam, Principal Assistant Director, at the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DoSM) conducted the course and covered the following topics:

  • Introduction of Information Society
  • Source Data: ICT Use and Access by Individuals and Household Survey (ICTHS)
  • Source Data: Usage of ICT and E-commerce by Establishment (ICTEC)
  • INSIGHT within Malaysia Digital Economy

The course was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to COVID-19.
