Training Course on Citizen Journalism in Libya

A Training Course on Citizen Journalism took place in the city of Tripoli in Libya between 03 and 14 March 2019, under the BINA Programme, carried out in partnership between the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Libyan Program for Reintegration and Development (LPRD).

Twenty participants from different occupations, who are actively engaged in citizen journalism, benefited from the 2-weeks training course.

Over two weeks, the participants learned basic skills on the use of tools and terminology of social media; strategic approached to social media and blogging; the importance of social media in reputation management, the role of influencers and the importance of the relationship between traditional and social media.

Ten from most successful participants were selected to participate in a more advanced training abroad to enhance capabilities and performance.
