SESRIC organised a Statistics Course on ‘Manufacturing and Construction Statistics’ on 3-4 December 2018 at the Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics (MDPS) of State of Qatar within the framework of OIC Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme.

Ms. Jamaliah Binti Jaafar, Statistician at Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), conducted the course with the participation of 36 officials of the MDPS of Qatar.

The Course included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

• Manufacturing Survey: Concept, objectives, scope, methodology, contents, tabulation and publication.
• Construction Survey: Concept, objectives, scope, methodology, contents, tabulation and publication
• Economic Census 2016: Introduction, objectives, manual, classifications, economic census organisation structure, implementation strategies, publicity and publication
• Data Communication and Dissemination: Current practices and emerging trends
