Training Program on Technology, Entrepreneurship, Advocacy and Management of Business Incubation and Technology Parks

SESRIC attended the Training Program on Technology, Entrepreneurship, Advocacy and Management of Business Incubation and Technology Parks that took place on 23–25 April in Istanbul, Turkey. The training was organized by The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) in collaboration with The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkey (TOBB) and was funded by the Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund for South-South Cooperation (PGTF).

20 participants from OIC member countries, OIC institutions including ICCIA, SESRIC and ICYF and participants from Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) attended the training program.

In the training workshop, SESRIC delivered a presentation on how to develop SMEs in fragile and conflict-affected countries through sharing its BINA Libya Project experience. Bina, is project that is funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and implemented by SESRIC to support the reconstruction of Libya. One of the major components of BINA Libya Project is the SME Development component, in which a business incubator will be established to serve entrepreneurship development in Libya.

The training workshop provided an excellent opportunity for participants to understand the important role of developing an entrepreneurial culture in OIC countries. In addition, the training enhanced the capabilities of the participants in the areas of conceiving, developing, executing and managing incubation centres and technology parks in their respective domains.
