The Twenty Eighth Session of the Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA), a forum with 45 members that promotes inter-agency coordination and cooperation on statistical programmes and consistency in statistical practices and development, was held at OECD in Paris, France on 29 - 30 September 2016. H.E. Amb. Musa KULAKLIKAYA, Director General, and Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Director of Statistics and Information Department represented the Centre thereat.
The following items were discussed during the 28th Sessio of the CCSA:
- Data and capacity building for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda
- Capacity building and training centers
- Cost-Benefit structures and the value of international statistics
- Communicating the value of international statistics
- Eurostat initative to harmonise cost structures and to measure key statistical products
- OECD experience on measuring the costs for national accounts
- Merits and Costs Procedure on European statistics provided by the ESCB
- Approaches towards assessing the value of statistics – overview of work of UN-ECE Task force
- Returns on Investment in Official Statistics: Two Methods and Applications
The Committee for the Coordination of Statistical Activities (CCSA) is composed of international and supranational organisations, whose mandate includes the provision of statistics. The CCSA promotes inter-agency coordination and cooperation on statistical programmes and consistency in statistical practices and development. As a forum of committed members, the CCSA fosters good practices in the statistical activities of international and supranational organisations, in accordance with the principles governing international statistical activities. The members of the CCSA contribute actively to the development of a coordinated global statistical system producing and disseminating high-quality statistics.
