In accordance with its 2016 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC will organise the Training Course on 'Information Society Statistics' at National Statistical Office (ONS) of Mauritania on 10-13 October 2016.
The Training Course will be conducted by Mr. Bouazza Bouchkhar, Head of Administrative data Unit at the Department of Statistics (HCP) of Morocco with the participation of 15 officials of National Statistical Office of Mauritania.
As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009; http://goo.gl/olg3Tz) ; Information society covers statistics allowing to assess the use and impact of information and communication technologies on society, includes access and use of ICTs including Internet), ICT expenditure and investment, ICT infrastructure, telecommunication networks, electronic communications, e-government, electronic commerce, e-learning, broadband penetration, ICT services, communication tariffs, network infrastructure, revenues, expenses and investment of operators, internet indicators and trade in telecommunications equipment.
The Training Course on 'Information Society Statistics’ will include discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:
