Training course on ‘Occupational Hygiene’

The Centre has organised a training course on ‘Occupational Hygiene’ in collaboration with Development & Perfection International Center (DPIC) of the Ministry of Labor & Administrative Reform in Sudan on 23-25 September 2014. The training course was provided by two experts, namely Mr. Nihat EĞRİ, Director of Occupational Health and Safety Center (ISGUM), and Mr. Hüseyin SEZEK, Kocaeli Laboratory Chief under Occupational Health and Safety Center (ISGUM), affiliated to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Turkey.

The 3 days training course on ‘Occupational Hygiene’ mainly covered the following subjects:

  • Occupational Noise- Measurements (ISO 9612:2009 Acoustics- Determination of occupational noise exposure -- Engineering method)

  • Hand-arm Vibration (ISO 5349 -Mechanical vibration -- Measurement and evaluation of human exposure to hand-transmitted vibration)
  • Whole body Vibration (ISO 2631 -Mechanical vibration and shock -- Measurement and evaluation of human exposure to whole body vibration)
  • Thermal Comfort Measurements and Reporting
  • Control methods for Physical exposure & Physical risk assessment at workplaces – Overview
  • Warm-up and Discussion on Field Measurements
  • Analyzing the Environment and Discussion
  • Sample Measurement Demonstration & Practice
