 The OIC Statistical Newsletter (OIC-SNL), formerly known as the OIC-SWG Newsletter, is a semi-annual publication prepared by the SESRIC Statistics and Information Department with issues in January and July and currently available in English only.
In the Second Meeting of the OIC Statistical Working Group (OIC-SWG), which took place at SESRIC in Ankara-Turkey on 15-16 June 2009, the participants agreed to introduce a new OIC-SWG Newsletter with the aim of reaching out to a wider mass of audiences and communicate the developments and initiatives taking place at different OIC institutions in the area of statistical capacity building. In this regard, the participants of the Second Meeting of the OIC-SWG assigned SESRIC with the responsibility for managing the OIC-SWG Newsletter.
With the initiation of the OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom) in April 2011, SESRIC in its capacity as the Secretariat of the OIC-StatCom decided to expand the coverage of OIC-SWG Newsletter and named it as "OIC Statistical Newsletter" starting with July 2011.
