H.E. Mohammad Hassan HABIBOLLAH ZADEH, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Türkiye, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK at SESRIC Headquarters. During the visit, they explored opportunities for collaboration on capacity-building and technical cooperation initiatives between SESRIC and the national institutions of Iran.

Thanking the Ambassador of Iran for his courtesy visit, H.E. SELÇUK expressed that the Centre organises capacity-building activities under its 21 sector-specific capacity-building programmes through which Iranian national institutions have both benefited from and contributed to them. She also underlined SESRIC’s readiness to expand the collaboration with relevant national institutions of Iran towards strengthening their skills and capacities.

H.E. SELÇUK mentioned that SESRIC organised 73 capacity-building activities for the benefit of the public institutions of Iran so far. National authorities of Iran, on the other hand, have provided experts for 13 activities organised by SESRIC on various socio-economic topics, including “Price Statistics”, “Energy Statistics”, “Banking, Insurance, and Financial Statistics” and “International Trade Statistics”, among others.

On his part, H.E. Amb. HABIBOLLAH ZADEH expressed his country's willingness to strengthen the existing collaboration with SESRIC and both benefit from the activities organised by SESRIC and continue to share Iran's experience in various domains.

The bilateral meeting ended with both representatives expressing their wish to strengthen collaboration between Iran and SESRIC as well as emphasising the importance of knowledge exchange and cooperation at the OIC level.
