SESRIC signed MoU with ICDT, ISESCO, LPRD and IDB during the 13th OIC Islamic Summit in Istanbul

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) has signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with different partners during the 13th OIC Islamic Summit, which was held between 10-15 April in Istanbul.

SESRIC signed a MoU with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) on 14 April 2016 in Istanbul. The purpose of this Memorandum is to establish a framework for cooperation between ICDT and SESRIC. Some areas of cooperation are:

  • Supporting national and regional efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals;
  • Launching new projects and programmes to build a safe, strong and prosperous Ummah, based on the results of the studies and research, and analysis of the needs and capacities;
  • Exchanging technical assistance for the purpose of joint research, statistical analysis, capacity building, training and consultation on the issues of common interest through collaboration with relevant national, regional, international and OIC institutions

Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), is the subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, which has been entrusted with trade promotion and investment among the OIC Member States.

SESRIC signed a MoU with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on 14 April 2016 in İstanbul. The purpose of this Memorandum is to establish a framework for cooperation between ISESCO and SESRIC. Some areas of cooperation are:

  • Promoting peace, well-being, prosperity, cultural and religious diversity and the universal values of humanity;
  • Making education, science and culture attractive for young people;
  • Integrating society in science and innovation and encouraging advanced research in areas of common interest

Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) was established by the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and one of the largest international Islamic organizations specialized in the fields of education, science, and culture.

SESRIC also signed a MoU with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the Libyan Programme for Reintegration and Development (LPRD) on 15 April 2016 in İstanbul.

The signed agreement between SESRIC and IDB for the implementation of the BINA INITIATIVE PROGRAM was originally designed for supporting LPRD to implement its reintegration programs in Libya. The Bina program consists of three major components: Research, Capacity Building, and Institution Building.

Within the scope of THE BINA INITIATIVE PROGRAM, four projects will be implemented in order to reach the overall objectives of the Program.

  1. Reintegration and development: The role of think-tanks
  2. Assisting LPRD in upgrading its database, statistics and building the capacity of its staff
  3. Training 100 people on public management and governance
  4. Establishing SME Incubators for Libyan Companies
