Guide for External Users
The SESRIC library makes an important contribution to facilitating access to data, records, facts, books and information on the OIC Member Countries. As an institution accessible to all, this guideline present to the external users of the library the rules and procedures of using the facilities of the library, particularly for the physically visitors.

Rules & Regulations for Physically Access Visitors
- Access for external users: Monday to Friday (10.00 - 16.00).
- An external user can use a visitor's card received from the receptionist at the Information Desk for a maximum of two hours per day between 10:00 and 16:00 (Lunch Hour 13:00-14:00 excluded).
- It is highly recommended to contact the librarian in order to book an appointment by sending an email to library@sesric.org or calling +90 312 468 61 72 (Ext. 1140).
- External users are encouraged to make appointments at least 24 hours in advance. Librarian will confirm the date and time of your scheduled appointment.
- In case of a no appointment, an external user needs to fill a form at the external entrance of the Centre, which will be submitted later to the librarian before entering the library.
- All external users must respect the library rules and the generally accepted norms of good behaviour towards their fellow users, the library staff, and library property.
- Smoking, drinking (with the exception of bottled water) and eating are not allowed in the Library.
- No large bags should be introduced in the library.
- Silence should be observed in the reading areas and mobile phone conversations should not be held anywhere in the library.
- All other behaviour likely to disturb other users is not allowed.
- Treat library property with respect. An external user will be charged for lost, stolen or damaged items.
Study spaces
- Around five workspaces are available to external users.
- 'First-come, first-served' workspaces.
- Laptops can be used in all workspaces.
Borrowing & E-resources
- External users do not have the right to borrow any type of the Library materials.
- External users have access to licensed e-resources when in the library.
- Consult e-resources via the PC located on the library or by using a laptop connected with Wi-Fi.
- Copyright laws and individual license agreements must be respected when accessing e-resources.
Photocopying & Printing
- An external user can request the photocopy of a material by filling the “SESRIC Library – Print Request Form” which need to be submitted to the receptionist.
- Approval will be given after a quick assessment of the requested material.
- A copy of a material may be refused for the following reasons:
- The status of the document, at the time of consultation in the catalogue or list, is not "Available".
- It is a reference document: a "Reference" label is affixed to it, which does not allow the document to be printed or reproduced without prior permission from the authors or the publishers.
- It is a journal or the current issue of a magazine.
- Print Request Application Form is not properly filled.
- The payment charge is not fulfilled.
- Printing charges: Black & White - 0.3 TL per page and Color - 1 TL per page
Using Computers
- One PC is available for external users at the entrance of the library in the 1st floor.
- Users need to log out when he/she leaves the PC.
- It is forbidden to view, send or download anything offensive.
