13th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) Conference

SESRIC attended the 13th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) Conference which was held on 13-17 January 2018 in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran. The PUIC conference provides a framework for comprehensive and fruitful cooperation and coordination among the parliaments of the OIC countries by exchanging parliamentary experience, discussing economic, cultural, social and political issues of interest to the OIC countries, and addressing grave challenges and attempts to impose cultural, political and economic domination, and adopting appropriate recommendations and decisions on such issue.

While in Tehran, the Director General of SESRIC, H.E. Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya had series of bilateral talks with officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran Statistical Office and Technical and Vocational Training Organization of Iran (TVTO) with a view to explore ways and means to further develop cooperation between SESRIC and these institutions in various fields of mutual interest and to speed up progress towards achieving the SDGs and the OIC 2025 Plan of Action.

On the sidelines of the PUIC Conference, Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya also held a bilateral talk with the Secretary General of PUIC Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol KILIC on the areas of cooperation between SESRIC and PUIC, with the aim of exploring the best means to promote and develop relations among the institutions. The mission also included the signing of two significant MoUs between SESRIC and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Islamic Chamber Research and Information Centre (ICRIC).
