Training on ‘Effective Leadership and Management of Development Organizations’

SESRIC in collaboration with The NGO World Foundation and the Institute of NGO Leadership and Management organized a training on “Effective Leadership and Management of Development Organizations” which was held on 02-05 May 2017 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The main aim of the training was to strengthen the leadership and management capacities of the development organizations and NGOs based in Pakistan. The training gave to participants the necessary skills to respond to the multidimensional challenges and opportunities facing their organizations and communities. Designed as an experiential leadership lab, the program provided a stimulating and supportive climate for exploring the pressing issues facing current and future nonprofit leaders.

The training, attended by more than 30 Pakistani NGOs’ leaders/managers, was facilitated by Mr. Atiq ur Rehman Mirza, Lead Trainer and Director of Institute of NGO Leadership and Management. Mr. Onur Çağlar, Technical Cooperation Specialist at SESRIC, made a presentation on OIC and SESRIC and highlighted the significant role of the NGOs and their crucial impact on the development efforts of the Islamic World. He also gave brief information on SESRIC’s recently initiated “OIC NGO Capacity Building Programme” and emphasized the willingness of the Center to collaborate with the NGOs from OIC Member states for better contribution to the development efforts of the OIC countries.
