SESRIC Participated in the 4th Annual Focal Points Meeting of the COMCEC Working Groups

SESRIC participated in the 4th Annual Focal Points Meeting of the COMCEC Working Groups organised by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Ankara, Republic of Turkey on 1-2 June 2016.

The Meeting was attended by the representatives of 31 OIC Member Countries including Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, and Uganda. SESRIC was represented by Dr. Atilla Karaman and Ms. Nenden Octavarulia Shanty, Researchers at Statistics and Information Department.

The main objectives of the Meeting were to:

  • Coordinate and follow up the implementation of the policy recommendation.
  • Raise awareness on the COMCEC Strategy and its instruments.
  • Ensure active participation of qualified experts to the working group meetings and formulation of policy recommendation.
  • Facilitate knowledge production efforts including field visits, surveys, and other similar activities.
  • Brief and discuss the themes of the working groups for 2017-2019.
  • Share the COMCEC project funding benefits for the member countries and its procedures.
