SESRIC signed MoU with Turkic Council in Istanbul

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) on 18 April 2016 in Istanbul. H.E. Ambassador Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SESRIC and H.E. Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States signed the MoU.

The purpose of this Memorandum is to enhance cooperation between Turkic Council and SESRIC, to identify areas of mutual interest with a view to:

  • Promoting close cooperation and consultation on matters of common interest in order to harmonize their efforts in the discharge of their respective mandates and to contribute to the economic and social development of the Turkic Council Member States and the OIC Member States.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective, systematic consultation, cooperation, coordination and exchanges of information.

Some areas of cooperation are, supporting national and regional efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, launching new projects and programmes to build a safe, strong and prosperous community and supporting related literature with joint publications such as books, reports, and periodicals.

The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (hereinafter referred to as “Turkic Council”), is an international organisation whose mission is further deepening comprehensive cooperation among Turkic Speaking States, as well as making joint contributions to peace and stability in the region and in the world.
