Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hesham Youssef, had paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), Amb. Musa Kulaklikaya at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara on 11th February 2016.

Director General of SESRIC, Amb. Kulaklıkaya and Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs of the OIC Youssef talked about the latest developments regarding various activities of SESRIC.

Both evaluated the potential contribution of the OIC to the World Humanitarian Summit, which is to be held this year. Director General of SESRIC, Kulaklıkaya informed Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs of the OIC, Youssef that they prepare a report on humanitarian issues and that they will organize a workshop about Syrian refugees in February in Ankara.

Kulaklıkaya and Youssef stressed out that sharing of knowledge and experience about humanitarian aid between the OIC countries was important. They discussed also topics like disaster management, capacity building of institutions and the role of nongovernmental organization in this context.
