Training Course on 'Agriculture Statistics (Food Crop Statistics)' in Bangladesh

In accordance with its 2014 Annual Work Plan, SESRIC organised the Training Course on 'Agriculture Statistics (Food Crop Statistics)' on 21-22 December 2014 at the premises of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, within the framework of the Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme. The course was provided by Dr. Kadarmanto, an expert of BPS-Statistics Indonesia, and was attended by relevant officials of the BBS.

As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009); agriculture statistics includes all agriculture, forestry and fishery related
statistics, e.g. agricultural monetary statistics trade in agricultural products, agricultural labour input, crop productuion, agricultural commodities, agro-industry statistics (including food production and safety), organic farming and organic food, government expenditure for agriculture products source and use tables.
