Fourth Meeting of the COMCEC Transport Working Group

The Fourth Meeting of the COMCEC Transport Working Group was held on September 12th, 2014 in Ankara, Turkey with the theme “Developing Air Linkages to Sustain Tourism among the OIC Member States”. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of 14 OIC Member States including Afghanistan, Benin, Djibouti, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Morocco, Malaysia, Niger, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Uganda. Representatives from the COMCEC Coordination Office, IDB (Islamic Development Bank), Turkish Airlines, Air Arabia, ATM Dalaman Airport and ICF International have also attended the Meeting. The Centre was represented thereat by Dr. Cem Tintin, Researcher and Mr. Omercan Kulaklıkaya, Researcher.

At the working group meeting, COMCEC launched two new studies “COMCEC Transport Outlook 2014 (Revised Version)" and “Developing Air Linkages to Sustain Tourism among the OIC Member States”. During the meeting, delegates found opportunity to discuss and share their views on these studies’ findings and recommendations. The delegations also exchanged their views, achievements and experience on incentive mechanisms in the aviation industry in their respective countries.

The Fifth Meeting of the Transport Working Group will take place on February 12th, 2015 in Ankara, Turkey.
